Large-flowered garden pansies are one of the first flowers that appear in our gardens. Therefore, they are associated with the coming of spring. A steadily growing number of more and more developed varieties strike with original colours. Among other advantages of these plants you will find myriads of shapes and colours, tender, velvety petals and often very nice, sweet aroma.

Large-flowered garden pansy - the blue variety with a black spot on the lower petals has just arrived in our store. This low growing, 15-20 cm tall, biennial plant can also be cultivated as annual. Small tufts with oval, frayed leaves are decorated with large, bright blue blooms with a black spot. Pansies reach from 5 to 8 cm in diameter. Five-petal flowers appear already in April, sometimes even earlier, and adorn the garden until mid-summer.

It would be hard to find more universal plants than garden pansies. You may plant them virtually everywhere. A simple flower bed will bloom in all colours of the rainbow, while an intricated edging of a lawn will add a subtle touch to a border. We might grow a colourful carpet of garden pansies in any part of a garden, provided it is a sunny place. These flowers look adorable under leaf-less trees. Combination of garden pansies with bulb plants will form a great arrangement that will bring you a lot of joy. Garden pansies fit well into rock gardens. Large-flowered blue garden pansy is also a great plant for cultivation in containers. Depending on the kind of a container we will be able to create a composition in any given style. Large, modern pots, bowls, clay pots, metal buckets, wickerwork baskets or plain balcony boxes filled with garden pansies will look simply fabulous. A sky-blue composition could adorn a balocny, terrace, windowsill or stairs. We can also spot those flowers on graveyards. Cold-resistant garden pansies make a perfect early spring decoration on tomb stones. Large-flowered blue garden pansies will enchant all lovers of this colour.

Garden pansies are undemanding, hence they grow well in most gardens. An ideal soil for these plants would be permeable, fertile and moderately moist. Clipping of the withered flowers and too long stalks prolongs the blooming time and enables upkeeping of a nice looking habit.

Easy cultivation and indisputable charm are great assets of this species. Large-flowered garden pansy is a terrific plant that is worth considering in your gardening plans.

All of the seeds sold in our shop come from the best producers from across the European Union. Thanks to a long-standing cooperation with them we were able to develop the most adequate storing and dispatch conditions, guaranteeing that you always receive fresh and carefully tested batches of seeds. Exclusion of the middlemen from the whole process not only makes it possible for us to avoid sending out-of-date seeds that might have been lying too long on a warehouse shelf, but also ensures the most attractive price for top quality products.

The quality control process

All our seeds must pass a four-stage quality control process.

Stage one begins with a careful selection of the suppliers. Than we proceed with controlling their crops, foreign producers are not excluded from the quality control process. Plants are checked at every stage of their development: when they start to grow, during blooming and when they start bearing fruit (seeds). At this stage the most important thing is to ensure proper spacing of the plants. Thanks to that obtaining the desired morphological characteristics of each particular species or variety, such as colour, height and shape, can be ensured.

Stage two consists of a detailed verification tests in laboratory conditions. With the use of the highest quality equipment by the highly qualified staff, our suppliers perform more than 30 000 quality checks annually. The seeds that do not meet our requirements are subject to technological refining processes, including drying, cleaning, upgrading and testing again.

Stage three starts with sowing seeds in selected control plots. That way we obtain valuable, exact information concerning their germination that must be maintained at an appropriate level. Simultaneously, the varietal identity of each species is checked at this stage.

Stage four takes place in our warehouses and consists of eliminating seeds that have been stored for too long on our shelves and replacing them with new batches. Each package is stamped with a unique batch number and also with the sow-by-date.

All four stages combined allow us to state with confidence that the seeds we deliver comply with the highest standards and have completed all required control stages with flying colours.
