The 'Moonlight' Mexican marigold (Tagetes erecta) that develops large double yellow flowers is a unique variety. Its exceptionally ornamental, huge blooms take on an attractive, sunny yellow colour. This bright colouring is by far not their only visual feature. They attracts attention with their form too. The flower heads of the presented variety consist of several hundreds of densely packed disc and ray flowers that form a shapely sphere. The large, double flowers of the 'Moonlight' Mexican marigold resemble, as the name suggests, miniature full moons. This plant will brighten up flower beds, edgings and borders. Since it grows taller than the usual representatives of its species, it fits perfectly into the central parts of compositions. We recommend to combine it with orange and red flowers, such as the ever-flowering begonia, scarlet sage and the large flowered ross moss, nasturtium or other marigold species and varieties.
Seeds of the 'Moonlight' Mexican marigold should be sown in spring to production pots or mini greenhouses. Young plants grown from seedlings will bloom already at the beginning of June. Direct sow on the target situation will also bring good results. In that case the cultivation will start in the second half of spring. The golden-yellow, double flowers of this charming variety can be adorned continuously until the first frost in autumn. The erect tufts of the abundantly blooming rather tall, 35 to 45 centimetres, 'Moonlight' Mexican marigold can grow virtually at every spot with access to sunlight. The variety offered here in our store is rather undemanding in regard to the soil type and thrives in all moderately fertile garden soils. This sturdy annual plant is perfectly suited not only for the cultivation in the open field, but in all large planters too. You can put containers with this Mexican marigold on a balcony, terrace or arrange it on cemetery. This variety is extremely resistant to scorching sun and drought.
Each package contains 1 gram of seeds of the double large-flowered yellow 'Moonlight' Mexican marigold. The growing instructions and sow-by date can be found on the package.
