Primrose, also known as English Primrose, is a perennial plant that grows 15 to 20 centimetres in height. It has gorgeous multi-coloured flowers that collectively make umbellate inflorescences; the flowers develop right next to the rosettes. Primrose is recommended to be grown in flower beds, rockeries, planters and in pots.
Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes or in pallet planters by pressing them into the soil. Sow the seeds from April to May. To obtain regular germination, place the boxes in a cool room (kept at around 10°C) for 7 to 10 days and then move them to a position kept at 16-20°C for the period of 3 weeks. Plant out into flower beds in 15-20cm spacings in late summer. The plants flower from March to May. Grow this variety in slightly moist fertile soils. The plants grow well in both shaded and sunny positions.
