Purple garden lobelia (Lobelia erinus) "Mitternachtsblau" forms low, yet broad, attractively violet-coloured flower pillows. Branched stalks od the plants of this variety reach a maximum height of 15 cm. They are covered by tiny leaves and from June to October also with hundreds of single, star-shaped blooms.
Lobelia seeds are recommended to be sown early in the spring at home in seeding trays or in a cold hotbed. As soon as the May frosts are gone seedlings might be tranplanted to a border or larger containers, preferably in 10x15 cm spacings that allow the plants to grow broadly and form a blossoming ball. Delicate, charming "Mitternachtsblau" lobelia might also adorn a balcony, terrace or patio. It also fits well to flower bed edgings and elevated borders. The more plants would grow together, the better the decorative effect will be. Lobelias only needs a sunny site with a permeable, moderately fertile soil and regular watering to bloom long and abundantly.
Each package contains 0.5 g of "Mitternachtsblau" purple garden lobelia seeds. The package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
