A sprouter is a special container used for growing sprouts at home. It consists of a tray where the water from the sprinkled seeds flows, one transparent tray with holes that help reduce the humidity and a lid that limits the evaporation and protects the culture from drying.
Growing sprouts at home offers a quick and easy way to enrich your diet. Cereal, oil plants' and vegetable sprouts supply us with vitamin A, B-vitaimins, vitamins C, E and K. They are also a rich source of minerals: calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, zinc and sulphur, and they also help eliminate the free radicals that are said to cause cancer. Regularly eaten sprouts lower blood pressure and hence decrease the risk of arteriosclerosis. They are low-calorie and easily digestible and therefore support the functioning of the digestive system. They also show antiseptic properties and help to get rid of toxins from your body. They prevent from anaemia, improve the condition of the skin, hair and nails and stimulate the appetite as well.
Sprouts produced with the help of our sprouter are not exposed to mould, because the holes in the lid and tray stimulate air circulation. The optimal temperature and humidity within the container speed up the development of young stems that may be harvested even 4-5 days after the sowing. Crunchy, tasty sprouts may be used in the cuisine in many ways – they are added to sandwiches, salads, soups, pasta and potatoes, eggs, cheese and meat dishes.
