The 'Tauris F1' sugar corn is a very early hybrid variety. It can be grown for fresh market, but you can also freeze it or make into preserves. The about 150 centimetres tall plants develop large numbers of conical cobs that contains dark yellow grains. The presented variety stands out with excellent productivity and high quality of the crops. The characteristic plants with thick knotted stems shoot large soft leaves. Female flowers produce the cobs that are covered with leaf sheaths. Sugar maize is characterized by the delicious sweet taste that it owes to high content of simple sugars. They are easily accessible for the body and supply it with a lot of energy. Sugar corn provides us with a wide range of vitamins and minerals, e.g. selenium that has proven anti-cancer properties. Lack of gluten is yet another advantage of sugar corn. Golden grains can be safely eaten by people suffering from celiac disease.

Sugar corn grows well in fertile, warm and slightly acidic soil. It needs plenty of sunlight. We recommend to grow maize on square or rectangular fields because of the wind pollination that is significantly less effective when corn is grown in rows.

Sow corn seeds after the so called ice saints, after the 15th of May. Keep the rows 50 cm apart. The seeds start to germinate in temperatures above 10°C. The process takes place quickly and evenly in the appropriate conditions. Make sure to prepare the beds well - weed them, crush the large soil lumps and even the ground. Sugar corn cobs are harvested from end of July to mid October.

The professional seeds that we offer here represent the highest possible quality. They meet the highest requirements thanks to the restrictive checks that they regularly undergo. These seeds stand out with excellent germination rate and seedlings' resistance to pathogens that plague the given species. The professional cultivars are characterized by an excellent taste and high productivity. The professional seeds that we offer here are adjusted to the soil and weather conditions that prevail in Central Europe, but can be successfully grown in other regions too. The carefully selected seeds are the key factor in every culture.
