Three-Leaf Akebia is a perennial vine that features outstanding brownish-purple flowers. During its flowering period, the entire vine is richly covered with a great amount of beautiful little purple flowers, which produce a vivid fragrance that greatly resembles cinnamon. After the flowers have stopped flowering, the plant grows delicious edible fruit. Three-Leaf Akebia is an excellent plant for pergolas, terraces as well as for trellis.

Growing: grow the plants in relatively moist fertile permeable soils; they will grow in less fertile or sandy soils, too. This variety prefers semi-shaded positions – it does not tolerate full sun or full shade. The plants flower in May and need to be covered for the winter.
