Crocuses belong to the most eagerly planted spring flowers. Even though they do not grow too tall, they have won over hearts of many gardeners. The "Herald" variety belongs to the exceptionally early blooming cultivars. Planted in autumn it starts to sprout first leaves already in February. Even a layer of snow would not harm it. It looks particularly stunning planted in larger groupings, but makes great impression on single-species flower beds and in colourful compositions.

The corolla of the "Herald" variety displays an intriguing colour combination. The inner petals are yellow, while the surrounding three outer ones are deeply crimson, nearly brown. This beautiful set is surrounded by narrow leaves. Their surface is smooth with a thin, paler stripe running through the middle.

Crocuses like sunny, bright places. They fit onto border edgings and low rock gardens. You may grow them on lawns, but remember not to mow them too close to the ground. These plants thrive in containers, too, where you may create interesting spring arrangements. As frost resistant species they might be grown in boxes and pots on terraces.

Crocuses are not too demanding, yet fulfilling some of their needs brings better results. The soil should warm up quickly, be permeable and have a slightly acidic reaction. These plants do not stand light, infertile, sandy soils.

The package contains 10 pcs of high quality bulbs.
