The Brillante F1 courgette (zucchini) produces fruit covered with a dark green, shiny peel. This early variety is ideal for field cultivation. The harvest comes fifty to fifty-five days after the sow. Presented variety shows excellent vigour, recovers quickly, and is resistant to diseases. Short internodes and rather loose habit facilitate accessing even, cylindrical fruits. The Brillante F1 zucchini delights with a delicate, compact flesh that is perfect for home-made preserves. Though still relatively unknown, zucchini is a versatile vegetable that can be used in many ways. It is healthy and nutritious at the same time. Low-calorie, digestible courgette has antioxidant and de-acidifying properties. It contains plenty of dietary fibre and beneficially affects eyesight. It is a staple food in diet for those who suffer from diabetes, cancer, and digestive system diseases.

Growing courgette is easy. Follow a few simple rules to harvest plenty of fruit. Choose a site that is sheltered from the wind, warm, and sunny. Courgette prefers fertile soils. Even though some recommend fertilizing it with manure or compost before planting, it is not a must - similarly to other gourd vegetables, it will fare well in meagre soil. Anywhere you plant it, courgette aka zucchini needs plenty of water.

Sow courgette seeds in moist and fertile soil that has a high content of nutrients. Sow in April under covers and on seed beds. Direct sow is possible after mid-May. Sow two or three seeds per hole, keeping plants one-hundred centimetres apart in rows every eighty centimetres. The site should be sunny, sheltered from the wind, and warm. The optimal temperature for the development of zucchini is twenty to twenty-five degrees Celsius. Harvest courgette gradually to stimulate plants to develop new flowers and fruits. You can expect first crop in July and enjoy ripe, juicy courgettes until September.
