The California Poppy, also known as the Golden Poppy, is an annual variety that hardly ever grows more than 25 centimetres in height. Considered to be fairly easy to cultivate, this plant produces heavily branched shoots that grow numerous single or double pastel flowers. The one-of-a-kind flowers open up only during sunny days. Their petals are arranged in several layers, creating a very characteristic and highly decorative shape. The California Poppy is ideal for flower gardens, borders, flower beds or planters.
Growing: sow the seeds in May, preferably directly into the soil. Thin the seedlings in such a way as to make them grow in 20x20cm spacings. This variety is little demanding as for the type of soil; it loves sunny positions.
