Cantaloupe "Masada F1" (Cucumis melo) undoubtely belongs to the most delicious varieties available on the market. It produces large, round fruit with greyish-orange peel covered with dense netting. Underneath its firm surface that guarantees long storage life sits thick, pale green, exceptionally sweet flesh. Thanks to high sugar and vitamin contant the "Masada F1" cantaloupe provides us with excellent dessert fruit, fitted for cakes, fruit salads, and as addition to ice cream, yoghurt and custard. Additional advantages of this heterotic cultivar are increased productivity and resistance, including complete insensitivity to the dangerous melon necrotic spot virus.

You should choose and prepare a proper site before the sow. Since cantaloupe produces large fruit, it needs a fertile soil rich in humus with high water capacity. Sow its seeds at home or onto a hotbed in early spring. Transplant hardened seedlings onto the field or plastic foil tunnel at the end of May. You will then be able to harvest sweet, refreshing fruit in July and August.
