Carrot "Berlikumer 2" (Daucus carota) - SEED TAPE - is a valued and very productive variety recommended for autumn harvest. It develops large roots that reach 16-20 cm in length and are evenly coloured. The vividly red-orange flesh is juicy and tasty. High content of sugars and beta-caroten predestinate this variety for direct consumption. The roots are perfectly fitted for preparation of sweet and delicious juices, purees and salads. They do not lose their taste nor nutritional value after cooking. They form a great addition to soups, sauces and meat. This variety is storable and does not lose its value until spring.
Using seed tape is a quick and easy way to grow vegetables in a garden. The seeds germinate evenly and are placed in optimal spacings that allow for ideal use of the space and proper plant development. Seed tapes are made of a material that decomposes completely in the soil and poses no threat to the plants nor to the environment. Place tapes with carrot seeds in the soil in rows 25 - 35 cm apart. Then cover them with soil and water thoroughly. Start the culture in April. If you think about storing the harvest over winter, place the tapes in the field only at the end of May. You will achieve best crops in medium compact, sandy-clay, well cultivated soils rich in humus.
