The Cigar Plant, also called the Cigar Flower, is a one-of-a-kind annual variety that features numerous funnel-shaped bright red flowers. Its shoots are heavily branched and trailing in the lower part; they are upright in the upper section. The dark green leaves are lance-shaped and densely covered with scratchy hair. The Cigar Plant is recommended to be grown on arbours, pergolas, fences, terraces or walls. This variety is also suitable for pots.
Growing: sow the seeds under cover from February to March. Plant out in 20-30cm spacings in May. The plants grow up to 30 centimetres in height and flower from June to September. They grow best in fairly moist fertile soils and prefer sunny positions.
