Eastern purple coneflower Mount Hood (Echinacea) is an outstanding variety, whose white flowers are decorated with a characteristic plume of petals. The erect, strong stems of these plants grow up to 90 cm tall. The magnificent inflorescences develop on tops of the stems all summer long until early autumn. The white flowers that will light up the borders at the end of summer, look particularly beautiful planted in larger groups or in company of other varieties that develop differently coloured blooms. You may cut coneflower flowers and put them into vases or make beautiful dry bouquets out of them.

Rhizomes of the purple coneflower Mount Hood should be planted into the ground in spring or summer. The grow best in fertile, moist and yet permeable soils. The would bloom abundantly in full sun. Removing of the wilted inflorescences stimulates the plants to produce new blooms. This is a frost resistant plant that winters in the ground.
