Frobes' glory-of-the-snow (Chionodoxa forbesii) "Pink Giant" - large pack! - 100 pcs.

Charming, white-pink flowers of the Forbes' glory-of-the-snow count among the earliest spring garden decorations. These vigorous, hardy perennials may grow on one site for several years – and develop thick green carpets there. Modest requirements in regard to the soil and care belong to the advantages of the plant.

Scientific name: Chionodoxa forbesii.

Vegetation form: perennial.

Growth form/habit: erect flowering stalks sprout from the ground in colonies.

Height: Forbes' glory-of-the-snow grows 25 – 30 cm tall.

Foliage: flowering stalks are surrounded by one or two pairs of leaves that resemble grass – they are long, narrow and shine attractively.

Flowering period: flowering period starts early, mid-March already and may last until June. Plants produce blooms abundantly even before the leaves appear.

Flower type: blooms are tiny and appear in large numbers. They are star-shaped.

Flower colour: this presented variety produces bicolour blooms: white turns into pastel pink at the tips of the petals. Flower centres are yellow.

Site: this presented species feels best on partially shady sites. It requires a moderately moist, permeable soil that does not waterlog.

Planting distance: you will achieve the best visual results by planting this variety in large groups of at least 15 plants. The optimal spacings for the bulbs amounts to 10 x 10 cm.

Frost resistance: Forbes' glory-of-the-snow is totally frost resistant.

Use: the "Pink Giant" variety is a great variety for planting in shady rock gardens, on edgings, low borders and lawns. It looks great among trees and shrubs, particularly lower growing conifers with which it forms splendid naturalistic arrangements. You may also grow Forbes' glory-of-the-snow in a larger bowl or pot.
