The "Alana" gladiolus (Gladiolus), sold in five piece packages here, is our proposal for all lovers of summer plants in distinct, clear colours. This tall, abundantly blooming variety grows 80 - 100 cm tall and blooms circa 70 - 90 days after the start of vegetation. The perennial presented here takes on an erect habit and the entire upper half of its single flowering stalk is covered with exceptionally large, funnel-shaped flowers. They take on a bright, golden-yellow colour with distinct, red edgings. The "Alana" gladiolus blooms in July and August, provide excellent material for fresh and long lasting bouquets.

Gladioli bulbs should be planted in spring, after the risk of frosts has finally passed. Despite its strong growth and exuberant blooming the plant offered here in our online garden store does not display any special cultivation requirements. It will develop well on every humous, sufficiently permeable garden soil. Sword lilies, as these plants are sometimes called in reference to their Latin name, like sunlight, but need wind-sheltered sites at the same time. A vividly coloured, bicolour, magnificent "Alana" gladiolus may be planted in the middle and in the background of borders. We also recommend to plant some alongside a fence and a building wall. The variety offered here will form intriguing, contrasting plant arrangements with the "Atom", "Black Star", "King's Lynn", "Ted's Favourite" and "Vesuvio" gladiolus varieties.

One package contains 5 bulbs sized 12/14 cm in diameter. Each package contains the most important growing tips.
