"Ice Cream Banana" tulip is a truly beautiful, one-and-only variety of the peony-shaped tulip. These plants grow 35 to 50 centimetres tall. "Ice Cream Banana" is a late tulip variety, whose flowers develop in May. The flowering period of this cultivar is a truly unique show. The initially green balls turn pink only to display a yellow centre at the end. These spherical, vividly coloured flowers are densely filled with petals and therefore resemble a ball of fruit ice cream. They deserve a central spot on the garden border. Their small height predestines them to grow in pots too.
Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, not too late to let them take root before the winter. Place them ten to twelve centimetres deep in the soil, keeping them ten to fifteen centimetres apart. Choose a sunny or only partially shady site. Tulips are not too demanding when it comes to the soil. They do not like moist ground, so make sure that there is a sufficient drainage layer in place. Tulip bulbs winter well in the ground.
Package contains 250 bulbs of the "Ice Cream Banana" peony-shaped tulip, sized 11 to 12 centimetres in circumference. The most important plant growing instructions were included in the product description on the package.
