Irish Moss, also called Heath Pearlwort, is a perennial plant that grows several centimetres in height; it makes densely packed clusters of clowers that resemble pillows. During the summer, the plants produce many little white flowers that greatly contrast with the vibrant green foliage. Irish Moss is a wonderful trailing plant for rockeries, as well as for filling in the gaps between flagstones.

Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes or in pallet planters from April to May. In the case of pallet planters, lightly press the seeds into the soil using a small board. The seeds germinate in 10 to 14 days at 16-20°C. Plant out into a permanent position in 15-20cm spacings in the summer. Grow the plants in fertile permeable soils in sunny positions.
