Salad "Frizzy Joe" is an easily cultivated, productive variety of the Japanese salad (Brassica rapa var. Japonica), also known as mizuna or japanese mustard. This fascinating, tasty seasoning plant does not develop heads, nor leaf rosettes, but grows in feathery tufts. Its narrow, stiff leaves have dentate, bright green blades. Their taste is considered slightly savoury, yet not hot, as it resembles mustard. They leaves are a perfect addition to cured meat, cheese, sandwiches and salads.
