The Matrona orpine (Sedum telephium) is a tall variety of the durable and vigorous orpine. It surprises with its unmatched ornamental properties. The red-purple shoots and leaves of this excellent perennial add warm colours to garden arrangement all year long. Myriads of tiny flowers gathered in large, semi-spherical umbels appear on the stem tops late in summer and in autumn, from August to October. Their candy pink colour perfectly harmonizes with the saturated crimson colour of the leaves. The Matrona orpine grows up to 60 centimetres tall and forms a rounded, tall, compact tuft. It can be grown as a standalone plant in smaller gardens or become the main attraction of a rock garden. On larger scale, presented perennial can be used as a warm counterpoint for evergreen bushes and small trees, or even as colourful accent on an autumn border.

Stonecrop seedlings can be grown almost everywhere - the only prerequisite for the abundant flowering is access to sunlight. These dry-loving, drought-resistant plants feel good in dry, meagre soil. They spread broadly and bloom long and abundantly in fertile earth. The variety offered here in our store is a purchase for years - it is exceptionally hardy and does not demand any maintenance. To achieve the best visual effects, we recommend combining the crimson-pink Matrona with Sedum varieties with differently coloured leaves and flowers, e.g. Carl, Munstead Dark Red, Summer Surprise, Stardust, and Purple Emperor.

One package contains 1 first choice seedling. Essential growing instructions have been printed on each package.
