Late ornamental pepper 'Dzwonek' is the one and only pepper variety with an unusually shaped fruit, perfectly suited for garden decoration. These berries are tiny and weigh only up to 20 g. They are narrow at the top and spread out towards the bottom, resembling small bells or bishop's hats, as this pepper variety is sometimes called. Their skin takes on bright green to red colour, depending on the maturity of the plants, and is covered with a waxy coating. Flesh of the variety available in our store is extremely hot and therefore recommended for seasoning of savoury dishes, such as chilli con carne.

Pepper 'Dzwonek' is an aji or Peruvian pepper (Capsicum baccatum) that is seldom grown in Europe. Its taste does not reflect its scientific name (baccatum means berry-like), but this variety delights with an original shape of the fruit and long cropping season. We recommend to grow it under covers and on sunny balconies and terraces.

Seeds of the 'Dzwonek' ornamental pepper should be sown in spring indoors in a bright room with a steady temperature of 20-25°C. This plant needs a humous soil and regular watering during its vegetation season.

Packages available in our store contain 0.2 g of the 'Dzwonek' ornamental pepper seeds.
