Petunia ‘Ultra Blue’ is a lovely annual variety which produces characteristic shoots that grow 40 centimetres in length. This type of petunia, similarly to other hanging plants, is highly recommended for hanging baskets, planters or small flower beds. Petunia ‘Ultra Blue’ sports beautiful and highly decorative, 7 to 10 centimetres broad blue flowers, whose growing period spans from May to October.
Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes or in pallet planters in March. Lightly press the seeds into the soil using a small board; they are not to be covered with soil. The seeds germinate in 14 to 20 days. Prick the seedlings out into pots or into pallet planters in 5 to 6 centimetre-wide holes. Plant out into a permanent position in 20-25cm spacings in May. The plants require fertile permeable soils; they need to be fertilised and watered on a regular basis. This variety grows best in sunny or semi-shaded positions.
