"Expo F1" radish (Raphanus sativus) is an early variety of elongated radish that is intended for cultivation in the field during the whole vegetation period. This variety may also be grown in summer, because it is resistant to high temperatures and does not shoot flowering branches. It develops finger-shaped roots that take on even shape and length. These elongated roots are cylindrical and have blunt ends. Dark red radishes with visible white tips are ideal for direct consumption and plate garnishing. They taste great in sandwiches, salads and with cottage cheese.
Radish seeds are sown at the beginning of April under covers or directly to the field. We recommend to sow gradually until September. Plant them in rows 10 - 20 cm apart. Ripe radishes may be harvested already after a few weeks from May until end of October. This plant will yield best crops in warm, moderately moist, deacidified soils that are rich in nutrients. Proper humidity of soil is of essence, particularly at the creation and development stage of the roots. Water shortages may cause them to become pungent in taste.
Each package contains 5 g of the "Expo F1" elongated, red, white-tipped radish seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
