Radish "Riesen von Aspern" (Raphanus sativus) is a medium early variety producing round, red roots, recommended for field cultivation. It yields rich high-quality harvest of round, rather large roots. Crunchy radishes grow rapidly, first harvest may occur already three weeks after the sow. This annual plant develops regularly shaped, round roots. They consist of glassy, white flesh sheltered by thin, red, almost scarlet skin. "Riesen von Aspern" variety produces attractively looking, healthy, delicious roots. They taste great as a healthy snack and in salads.

Radish is a vegetable that should preferably be grown in colder months, because it develops flowering stalks instead of edible roots in warm season. It grows best in spring and autumn. Radish seeds should be sown directly to the ground in early spring if we plan to harvest in the spring, or in August for the autumn harvest. Radish cultivation should take place in fertile, humous soils in rows 10-20 cm apart.
