The Sabi star, also known as the desert rose, mock azalea, kudu or impala lily (Adenium obesum) belongs to the most unusual succulents that can be found in amateur cultivation. This unique miniature tree looks more like a dwarf baobab than a typical cactus. The plant develops a thick, strong stem that can be shaped by the grower. Branches that spread out from the trunk can be easily transformed into a compact crown, if properly guided. The plant is showered with beautiful pink flowers from late spring to the end of summer. The funnel-shaped flowers have darkly rimmed petals and give the Sabi star a truly fabulous appearance. The unusual rose of the desert will turn out to be a great gift for enthusiasts of succulents and bonsai trees. It is not only exceptionally beautiful, but also easy to grow.
Seeds of the desert rose should be sown into a container filled with cacti soil enriched with the addition of perlite. Place the seeds about 1 cm deep. The cultivation site should be sunny and warm, because the optimal temperature for seed germination is around 25°C. The overgrown specimens should be transplanted into shallow pots dedicated to the cultivation of bonsai and trimmed in such a way as to give them the form of a dwarf tree.
Each package contains 5 seeds of the Sabi star, the mock azalea. The package information contains the growing instructions and the sow-by date.
