"Ramona" scarlet sage (Salvia splendens) is a very popular ornamental plant that will adorn your garden, balcony or terrace all summer long. This low-growing plant develops a compact habit and reaches 35 - 40 cm in height in the blooming period. "Ramona" scarlet sage possesses many ornamental qualities and develops large inflorescences that start to bloom at the beginning of summer and continue until autumn frosts. The attractive dark red flowers look great on borders and flower beds. You can compose splendid edgings out of them and grow them at lawn edges, alongside paths or fences. "Ramona" is also a great plant for cultivation in pots, bowls and boxes that adorn your balcony or terrace.
Scarlet sage should be grown from seedlings prepared in a greenhouse or warm room. For that purpose sow scarlet sage seeds to pots or boxes filled with permeable soil from January to March. After pricking and hardening the seedlings may be transferred outside, yet no earlier than mid-May due to their sensitivity to frosts. Sage would thrive on a warm, sunny and wind-sheltered border. The soil needs to be fertile, rich in humus and moderately moist.
Each package contains 0.5 g of the "Ramona" scarlet sage seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
