The Ignacy potato is a relatively new, early drought-tolerant variety. It produces regularly shaped, large, round-oval tubers with a yellow skin. Halving them reveals light yellow flesh of excellent taste. You can use offered cultivar in a variety ways in your kitchen. When grown commercially, Ignacy potatoes are suitable for washing and packaging. One of the advantages of the variety is resistance to viruses, potato eelworm, and common scab. It is, though, more susceptible to late blight. Ignacy is a variety of the culinary type B, intnended for general use. The flesh of that type of potato is firm when cooked, but can be quickly mashed when only lightly pressed. Ignacy is a tasty and versatile potato, suitable for boiling and frying. It gives all the dishes made of it a great taste and pleasant texture.

The Ignacy seed potatoes offered here can be planted in the field, in large containers, and in special cultivation bags. The optimal time for planting in your vegetable garden is the end of March and beginning of April, we recommend waiting with planting until end of April to mid-May when you decide to grow Ignacy in a planer or bag. Plant seed potatoes on raised beds called ridges. Bury them about 10 centimeters deep, 20 to 40 centimetres apart, depending on the tuber size. Keep ridges 60 to 90 centimetres apart. Dust emerging shoots two or three times during germination. Taking care of potato plant is limited to watering during drought and weeding. Harvest Ignacy potatoes 90 to 110 days after the start of cultivation.
