Spiderwort is a perennial plant that grows 40 to 60 centimetres in height with straight or slightly reclining shoots and narrow lance-shaped foliage. Its very characteristic, triangular dark blue flowers grow abundantly from May to late autumn. Spiderwort is a worthy plant for flower beds and planters. It is often grown around ponds as well as in parks.
Growing: sow the seeds in boxes or in pallet planters from April to May. The seeds germinate irregularly in 3 weeks. Once the seedlings have developed several leaves, plant them out to a permanent position in 30-35cm spacings. The plants grow best in moist fertile soils in sunny or partly shaded positions.
