The pink kale sprouting seeds (Brassica oleracea) are a great solution for people who cannot afford to grow vegetables in the garden, but would like to diversify their diet with delicious green leaves that are full of vitamins. Kale sprouts are even richer in vitamins and minerals than the mature plants. In addition to that the nutrients they contain are way more available. The young, only 3-4 cm plants, are a real vitamin bomb. They are rich in vitamin C, B vitamins, beta-carotene, potassium, iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and antioxidants (compounds with anti-cancer properties). Kale sprouts are not only an extremely healthy superfood, but also a delicious delicacy. They have a rather spicy, distinctive flavour, thanks to which they will add character to sandwiches, casseroles, salads, salads and dinner dishes. They taste great with cottage cheese, eggs and all kinds of cold cuts.
Growing kale sprouts on your own is quick and easy. You only need the seeds and a container in which you will grow and rinse them. For this purpose you can use a sprinkler or an ordinary jar covered with gauze, set upside down at an angle of approx. 45°. Kale sprouting seeds should be soaked in lukewarm, previously boiled water for 6-8 hours. Pour the water out, rinse the seeds and let them drain. The cultures should not be exposed to direct sunlight or heat sources, but should be placed in a sunny and airy site. Sprouts only require to be rinsed with water twice a day. The young shoots, full of vitamins, are ready for harvesting and consumption after 3 days of cultivation at the earliest.
