It belongs to the stoloniferous subspecies, as it produces numerous horizontal rhizomes, thanks to which it spreads very well and densely. This characteristics is of particular importance when covering unsightly, bare spots in the lawn. Nice appearance goes hand in hand with many other advantages. This grass is highly valued for its tolerance to various soil and climatic conditions. It will grow in almost any terrain. It is remarkably winter hardy and will survive periodic droughts without any damage. The Maxima variety is also characterized by very good disease tolerance. Like the most fescue varieties it is recommended for sunny positions, but also tolerates moderate shade. The growth rate is considered slow and this grass does not require frequent mowing. Lawns covered with this species of grass have a smooth, dense but firm turf with a medium-bright green colour.
