The "Sweet Mesclun" lettuce variety mix (Lactuca sativa) contains seeds of the best leaf lettuce cultivars that are perfect for home cultivation of the young leaves, so called Baby Leaf. The undeveloped leaves of green and red lettuce constitute a real vitamin bomb, as the plants are rich in provitamin A, B vitamins and vitamin C, as well as easily assimilable minerals, fibre and chlorophyll. They stand out with a tender, delicious taste, are soft and delicate, hence fitted for salads, sandwiches and garnishing of hot plates.

The variety mix offered here includes seeds of the "Salad Bowl", "Red Salad Bowl" and "Rosela" lettuce varieties. All three of them bring rich harvest both planted on borders and in container cultivation at home. Lettuce needs a light, aearated, yet not overdried soil that is rich in humus. Since the leaves grown from the "Sweet Mesclun" variety mix are consumed before they fully develop and form rosettes, seeds may be sown all-season long, from spring until end of summer.
