Tall Verbena, also known as Purpletop Vervain, is an annual ornamental plant, which grows up to 120 centimetres in height. This variety features gorgeous lilac flowers that grow in great amounts, collectively making umbellate clusters, in which form they embrace the plant from July all the way up to the first frosts. Tall Verbena, a variety which attracts butterflies, can be used in high flower beds or act as a background in lower flower beds.

Growing: this plant is relatively little demanding. It is self-sowing, therefore you only need to make sure that the inflorescences grow by late autumn – this is when they start to shed the seeds. The seeds germinate very quickly and richly. This variety grows best in sunny positions in light sandy or sandy-clay soils.
