Wild Strawberry ‘Attila’ is perhaps the most unusual of all the wild strawberry varieties. Grown in pots, it produces hanging shoots that can grow up to 150 centimetres in length. This unique variety grows quickly and richly; it covers itself with highly aromatic red fruit. It flowers rapidly. Wild Strawberry ‘Attila’ is recommended especially for hanging planters or flower planters.
Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes or in covered pallet planters from March to April. The seeds germinate in 3 to 4 weeks at 16-22oC. Plant out into the soil in 30x35cm spacings; plant out only the seedlings that have developed 5 to 6 leaves. The plants flower within the first year of cultivation, then annually from June to the autumn. They grow best in slightly acidic fertile soils.
