Livia bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is a dwarf French bean variety. Resistance to anthracnosis and halo blight belongs to the biggest assets of this variety. This extremely productive bean counts to medium early varieties and it usually takes 68 - 70 days from sow to harvest. It develops branched bushes that grow 40 - 45 cm tall. Pods are 12 - 14 cm long and 0.8 - 0.9 cm thick. They stand out with high gustatory value, are tasty, firm, stringless and do not deform. This yellow-pod variety is intended particularly for direct consumption, but may also be frozen and preserved.

Seeds of the French bean are sown directly to the field in spring in rows 40 - 50 cm, in 10 cm spacings. If you wish to extend the harvest time, we advise to sow seeds gradually in batches every fortnight until mid-July. This vegetable prefers sunny and warm sites. It requires a quickly warming up, constantly moist soil that is rich in humous, in order to grow properly and bring rich crops. These can be expected in July already.
