Blood amaranth "Bronze" (Amaranthus paniculatus) is a majestic, erect annual plant that enchants with rich foliage and the one-and-only inflorescence: a dense cluster of thick, erect ears. Plants of the presented variety grow up to 100 cm tall and produce copper-brown blooms. An erect blood amaranth "Bronze" tuft will transform every composition into a royal treasury of colours and shapes. This plant looks great in company of large summer flowering plants, such as dahlias, tall asters or sunflowers, ornamental grasses and lower decorative shrubs. You can arrange them in striking rows or combine with any arrangement in a naturalistic garden.
Blood amaranth seeds are sown late in the spring directly onto a sunny border, into fertile and moist soil, that needs to have a medium compact structure, protecting the plants from waterlogging. The variety offered here grows rapidly and starts to bloom already in July to adorn the borders until the October frosts.
Each package contains 0.5 g of "Bronze" purple amaranth seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
