Dwarf aster 'Ribbon Blue' is a low growing variety that develops a compact, bushy habit. It owes part of its ornamental value to its erect, stiff, branched flowering stalks that are densely covered with small leaves. 'Blue Ribbon' aster develops large, beautiful, double flowers that resemble peonies. Their petals are blue-purple with white edges and surround the sunny yellow centres. The variety offered in our store would quickly become an original decoration of your flower bed. It is a great fit for borders, too, provided you look for an annual, dwarf plant that blooms in summer and would fill the space left by the wilted perennials. Due to the small size (25 cm) this aster cultivar may be grown in containers on balconies and terraces, for example in arrangements with the related 'Ribbon Red' variety. Dwarf Chinese aster (Callistephus chinensis) belongs to the Asteraceae family and is an undemanding annual plant that blooms for a long time - from July to October. Seeds are sown in spring onto a hotbed, seed bed or directly onto the borders. The soil should be fertile, permeable, rich in humus and should not dry out. Choose a sunny or partially shady site. Asters do not require rich fertilizing in order to produce sturdy, beautifully coloured blooms. Packages available in our store contain 0.5 g of the 'Ribbon Blue' dwarf aster seeds.
