Cucumber "Lokata F1" (Cucumis sativus) is a medium early variety that perfectly suits cultivation in the field. It shows exceptional productiivity. This annual plant displays strong growth and regeneration ability, what enables you to extend the harvest until late autumn. High resistance to diseases, particularly downy mildew, belongs to the greatest assets of this plant. You will not need chemical control agents, saving money in the process. It also allows you to use "Lokata F1" cucumber in organic and integrated production. Its fruit take on great, cylindrical shape with green peel sprinkled with small warts. The fruit grow rather short, do not overgrow in diameter and are perfect for gherkins and pickles.

Cucumber belongs to thermophilic plants that develop best on sunny sites. It requires well cultivated soils rich in nutrients and humus. It is extremely important that the soil stays moist. Cucumbers may be grown either from direct sow onto the field or from seedlings prepared earlier indoors. Seeds and seedlings are planted to the soil outside no earlier than in the second half of May. The culture should take place in rows 100 - 120 cm apart, leaving 15 cm distances between the plants. The first tasty fruit ripen already in July.
