Common daisy of the Edible Flowers series delights you with small, white blooms, of which only a few people know that they are edible. They have a slightly savoury, herbal taste. Young blooms may be eaten whole, while you should only eat petals of the older ones. They taste particularly well in salads and harmonize with lettuce, spinach and radish. The charming blooms may also be used in pastry and dessert decoration. Tea made of dried daisy leaves is recommended in arteriosclerosis, fever and diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
Daisy is an undemanding plant that grows well both in the sun and in partial shade. It likes fertile, permeable and moderately moist soils. You may easily grow garden pansy from seeds sown early in summer or in spring. The plants bloom continuously all summer long until autumn, yet only in the second your of cultivation. Harvest tiny blooms that have just opened, because they are significantly milder in taste. You may use them directly or dry in a dark place.
Each package contains 0.2 g of the Edible Flowers white common daisy seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the package information.
