Field cucumber "Ares" (Cucumis sativus) is a variety with a rather long vegetation period, what means that it belongs to the medium late ones. High resistance to the most common squash family diseases, one of the most important features of this variety, makes the intensive use of the chemical control agents unnecessary. These plants produce long, evenly shaped and sized fruit. They are covered with a shiny, vividly green skin with visible white smudges. Crunchy cucumbers are bitter-free. They are perfect for different kinds of preserves, particularly pickles.

Mid-May is the ideal time for sowing "Ares" cucumber seeds to the ground. You may also grow seedlings under covers at an earlier date. These seedlings may be planted outside only after the last frosts. Choose a sunny, warm, wind-sheltered site for growing field cucumbers. A permeable, humus-rich, quickly warming up and moderately moist soil suits this plant best.

Each package contains 5 g of the medium late field cucumber "Ares" seeds. The growing instructions and the sow-by date are included in the product information.
