Butterhead lettuce 'Marta Zielona' for cultivation in tunnels and outdoors is a very early variety that shows a great crop structure. It develops large, compact, closed heads that weigh ca. 300 g. Leaves of this proposed variety are bright green and are very soft, tender and slightly wrinkled. They delight with their great taste and are therefore perfect for sandwiches. Fresh, bitterless and digestible butterhead lettuce (Lactuca sativa) forms an indispensable part of the summer menu. It supplies us with numerous vitamins (B1, B2, B12, C) and easily assimilable minerals.

Butterhead lettuce 'Marta Zielona' is not only productive, but also easy-to-grow. It displays high resistance to the majority of the downy mildew races and is not influenced by extended exposure to sunlight nor high temperatures. That is why this proposed variety is perfectly suited for all-season cultivation in the field without covers. You may harvest it in the spring, summer and even in early autumn.

This lettuce cultivar works great as forecrop and aftercrop. The soil on the site chosen for growing this vegetable should be sandy-clay, moderately compact, humous and non-acidic.
