Parsley "Eagle - Halblange" (Petroselinum crispum) is a root parsley variety intended for the medium early harvest. It is perfectly fitted for direct consumption and long-term storing over the winter and it does not freeze when left in the field. It produces white, medium large, conical roots. White flesh is firm, does not show fibrous discolourations and is covered with smooth peel. This vegetable belongs to soup greens, used for broth preparation. Its roots are rich in flavonoids, that show anti-oxidation properties, and a wide array of vitamins and minerals. Parsley root beneficially affects the digestive system, acts as anti-inflammatory agent and is recommended in urinary tract ailments.
Parsley is an undemanding and easily cultivated vegetable that is propagated by direct sow to the soil. Seeds available in our store have been treated. This action destroys pathogens that occur on the seed surface and protects from those lingering in the soil. Parsley seeds should be sown in early spring, when the soil has dried after the winter. Parsley withstands low temperatures well, what makes an autumn sow in November or December possible. Cultivation in rows 30 - 40 cm apart is recommended. In order for the plants to develop regularly shaped, high quality roots, you ought to plant them in 4 - 6 cm spacings. Growing "Eagle" parsley in fertile, well cultivated, rather moist soils that are rich in humus brings best results. The optimal soil pH for parsley is 6.5.
Each package contains 1 g of "Eagle Halblange" parsley treated seeds. The package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
