Parsley "Eagle - Halblange" (Petroselinum crispum) is a root parsley variety that reaches crop maturity medium early. Its roots are perfectly fitted for direct consumption, freezing and long-term storing. It develops medium long roots that take on nice, conical shape. The crops are evenly sized and shaped as the roots do not bend nor bifurcate. The white flesh is firm and delicious and does not show fibrous overgrowth. Parsley belongs to soup greens, used in broths that constitute base of many soups and other dishes. Parsley roots beneficially affects the digestive system, acts as anti-inflammatory agent and is recommended in urinary tract ailments. Parsley contains antioxidants, large amounts of vitamins and minerals.
This is an undemanding and easily cultivated vegetable. "Eagle" parsley should be grown in fertile soil that is rich in humus and water. The ground should be properly cultivated, ideally with pH close to 6.5. Seeds available in our garden store are sown in early spring directly to the site, where it would grow. You may, however, sow also end of November / beginning of December. Please maintain 4-6 cm spacings between the plants that should grow in rows 30 - 40 cm apart. You may harvest nicely shaped roots from July to October.
