Pepper "Alexander" (Capsicum annuum), dark red, tomato-shaped variety intended for field and tunnel cultivation presents the perfect choice for lovers of unusual vegetables. Large, regularly shaped, roundly-flattened fruit of this variety resemble large, ripe tomatoes. They are fleshy, exceptionally sweet and valuable, expecially due to the high vitamin C content. You may eat them raw or process them.

Seeds of the vigorous "Alexander" pepper are sown in early spring under heated covers, on a hotbed or at home. Seedlings require temperatures over 20°C, while the fruit bearing plants need at least 15°C. You will grow richest crops under covers, and in warmer regions also in the open field, yet on warm, sunny and sheltered sites. You should grow peppers in high quality, permeable, moist soils fertilised with organic substrate. You will be able to harvest dark red tomato-shaped peppers in July the earliest and in September the latest.
