The rose moss is an easy-to-grow and sturdy annual plant. Its main decoration consists of the large, brightly coloured flowers that resemble single-flowered roses. They come in many different colours. You will find white, red, pink, yellow and orange blooms among them. This low, 15-20-cm tall plant perfectly copes with difficult conditions in which other species are doomed to fail. Drought and poor, barren ground will not hurt it. It is a succulent that stores its water supply in fleshy stems and needle-like leaves.
This plant is perfectly suited for low flower beds, borders and rock gardens, as well as for embankments and walls. It looks beautiful planted in decorative, wide bowls. It harmonizes with California poppy and gazania.
It grows well on light and well-drained soils and does not require any special care measures. You may fertilize it sparingly to stimulate flowering. Both excessive watering and fertilizing can cause damage of the plant. It is an excellent plant for busy and forgetful people.
Seeds are sown in April onto hotbeds or directly to a permanent site in May. If you wish to accelerate plant development or make sure that they will grow up nicely, you can sow earlier in boxes and than prick the seedlings out to the permanent location in the second half of May.
Each package contains 0.5 g of rose moss variety mix seeds. Package information contains growing instructions and the sow-by date.
