Tomato "Flame" (Lycopersicon esculentum) is a field, vigorous medium early variety. It is recommended for field and tunnel cultivation. This is an indeterminate, tall growing, yet not quickly growing plant that takes on moderately branchy habit, what makes staking necessary. "Flame" tomato belongs to very productive cultivars and develops numerous large fruit that weigh 120 - 150 g. The berries look great and are regularly shaped and sized. They take on a slightly flattened shape, are smooth and do not form green shoulders. Its flesh is firm and fleshy, vividly coloured, but first and foremost, delicious and aromatic. The fruit also soften very slowly.
Growing seedlings in a heated room is the best way to grow tomatoes. Seedlings are produced early in spring, seeds of the "Flame" tomato are sown to pots or boxes filled with permeable soil. Seedlings are transplanted outside in the second half of May after prior hardening. You should choose sunny and warm, wind-sheltered sites for tomato cultivation. These plants will grow and yield abundant crops even on medium quality soils, provide they are properly fertilised.
