The "Polorosa F1" tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) is a hybrid cultivar that produces beautiful, juicy, firm raspberry-type fruit with an excellent, slightly sweet taste. These fruit are large (between 180 and 200 g in weight), round with subtle rippling and resistant to breaking. They also endure storing very well. This variety is intended for cultivation in greenhouses or under plastic foil tunnels.

The tomato is a valuable and tasty vegetable. Its fruit contain large amounts of vitamins C, B1 and B2, as well as kalium, phosphorus and calcium. Lycopene, a strong anti-cancer agent, is the most valuable substance available in tomato berries. Consumption of tomatoes decreases risk of arteriosclerosis and supports functioning of the cardiovascular system.

Seeds of the "Polorosa F1" tomato should be sown from mid-February until end of March or in April into covered pots. The seedlings should be transplanted to the permanent site in May or at the beginning of July. Plant the seedlings 30-50 cm apart. Slightly acidic, permeable, possibly humous and moderately moist soil works best in tomato cultivation. The plants require frequent fertilization with biohumus or compost. The fruit are harvested in August or at the beginning of September.
