"Southern Delight F1" cucumber is a very attractive Japanese variety. These plants yield rich harvest and may be grown both in the field and under covers. Vigorously growing plants may be grown with supports. It shows high resistance to downy and powdery mildew and anthracnosis. The large fruit may grow even 45 cm long and 2.5 cm in diameter. They are covered with dark green peel sparsely covered with small thorns. Fruit of the "Southern Delight F1" variety are delicious and may be eaten raw, marinated or cooked.
Seeds of the "Southern Delight F1" cucumber are sown early in spring in a heated room. Seedlings should be transplanted outside when the weather would have stabilized and the risk of frosts is gone. The seedlings need to be hardened before. Place the plants 15 cm apart in rows 100 cm apart. This variety may also be grown with supports. Similarly to other cucumber varieties, this cultivar prefers sunny, warm and wind-sheltered sites. You should prepare fertile, permeable and water-retaining soil rich in humus for "Southern Delight F1" culture.
