Garden Ferns - the lady fern (Athyrium filix-femina) is a plant that reaches height of about one metre. Its ornamental character lies in its light green, subtle, and long leaves. They are double pinnate, pointed, and intricately formed. Lady fern belongs to the common forest ferns, but due to its charm and versatility, it was introduced to gardens. Naturally styled, landscape spots and parks belong to places where you can find it. The offered fern perfectly harmonizes with alumroot, hosta, lily of the valley, lesser periwinkle, and geranium. This phenomenal perennial with decorative leaves looks sensational as undergrowth of trees and shrubs. It creates a mysterious, fairy-tale atmosphere at the edge of a pond or a stream. Due to the high durability of the leaves, excellent vitality, and vigour, lady fern can be used a covering plant. Its dense, raised leaves constitute a perfect decoration for shady flowerbeds and rock gardens.

The lady fern thrives in woody, Oriental, and gardens. Shaded and semi-shaded areas suit this species best. Plant it in moderately moist soil with high humus content and a slightly acidic reaction.

We hereby offer one seedling of the lady fern of the Garden Ferns series. Basic plant information and growing tips were printed on the packaging label.
