"Mahogany Jewel" garden nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus nanum Mahogany Jewel) belongs to the most beautiful and easiest in cultivation balcony and border plants. Its slender, trailing stems form compact, semi-circular bushes reaching 30 to 40 cm in height and width. They are adorned with quite large, round, vividly green leaves with visible veins, and in summer and early autumn (July - October) with magnificent, bell-shaped flowers that sport intriguing spurs. Blooms of the presented variety take on deep red colour with a hint of mahogany.
Seeds of the garden nasturtium should be sown mid-spring directly or to boxes and pots filled with permeable flower soil with a substantial drain layer. This plant loves exposure to sun, however, it would also feel well at partially shady sites. "Mahogany Jewel" is a great plant for lesser, lighter soils, because it produces more leaves in relation to blooms in fertile soils. We recommend to combine this monk's cress, as it is also known as, with other cultivars of the same species, like the pink-orange "Alaska Salmon Orange" and bi-colour, crimson-ivory "Night & Day".
Each package contains 5 g of garden nasturtium "Mahogany Jewel" seeds. Growing instructions and the sow-by date have been included in the product information.
