Gentian is a plant which is relatively uncommon in central European countries. During its flowering period, which spans throughout the summer and ends in early autumn, the plant produces large, trumpet- or bell-shaped flowers that come in three main colours, including white, yellow and blue, and their hues. Such a unique arrangement of colours results in an oustanding decorative potential. Gentian is suitable for flower beds and rock gardens.
Growing: sow the seeds in covered planter boxes from April to May. Plant out into a permanent position from August to September. The plants flower from June to September a year after the sowing. This variety requires fertile soils in sunny or partly shaded positions; do not use acidic soils.
